Mr Stewart McMorran

MA MB BCh MSc MPhil MRCS(Eng)

Stewart is Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Musgrove Park Hospital and Consultant in Prehospital Emergency Medicine for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Stewart trained in medical informatics before studying medicine at Cambridge University Medical School. Whilst a medical undergraduate Stewart was awarded a Foulkes Fellowship and a BMA Wolfson Fellowship. Stewart designed and developed the original database that powers GPnotebook. He has continued to facilitate production of each new edition of the database.

After house jobs, Stewart undertook training towards his MRCS in Coventry and Birmingham hospitals. He embarked onto his Specialist Registrar post in 2000. Stewart has been appointed to the project team of the National Library of Health Emergency Care. He is a trainer in Advanced Life Support, Advanced Paediatric Life Support and various other pre-hospital care qualifications.

Stewart is married with two children. He was an accomplished runner and won a Cambridge Blue and has a half-marathon best time of 66 minutes.
