The Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) test is a sensitive, easily done screenng test for syphilis

The RPR test is a nontreponemal testing procedure for the serologic detection of syphilis

The RPR detects reagin, an antibodylike substance present in the sera from syphilitic persons and occasionally in sera of persons with other acute or chronic conditions.
