The frontal sinus lies within the frontal bone of the skull. It is drained via the frontonasal duct, which passes through the ethmoidal air cells to reach the middle meatus.
Infections in the frontal sinus may spread posteriorly to the anterior cranial fossa or inferiorly to involve the orbit.
