Bacillus anthracis grows in aerobic and anaerobic environments. It grows on ordinary media at 37 degrees centigrade. It forms circular, white, granular colonies. Typically, these are 3mm in diameter.
Susceptibility to 'gamma' phage in culture distinguishes B. anthracis from other Bacillus species.
