Agenda-led consultation analysis

Authoring team

Rather than the rather polarising approach generated by 'Pendleton's Rules', groups analysing a videoed consultation may find it helpful to discuss the various agenda of the doctor and patient.

This approach is not only more supportive of the brave doctor revealing him- or herself on video but also helps to elucidate the causes of dissatisfaction and conflict between the players.

Taking the time to imagine oneself into the patient's situation gives useful insights into the reactions observed.
