The 5 year survival rate with chondrosarcoma is about 35%.

There is an increased incidence of malignancy, and hence a poorer prognosis with:

  • axial skeleton primaries as opposed to small bones
  • increasing size
  • multiple cartilaginous tumour syndrome
  • earlier age of onset
