Temporary residents for medical care are those patients who are temporarily resident for at least the next twenty four hours in the practice area.

The patient's administrative details and the notes concerning their illness should be entered on form GMS3.

A temporary resident claim form can be completed for patients who are offered telephone advice, provided their administrative details are completed on form GMS3.

Form GMS3 also deals with immediate necessary treatment, contraceptive services, minor operations, vaccinations dental haemorrhage etc.

The form does not need a signature, but needs to be filled in accurately.

Further consultations can be documented on the retained card copy.
