  • at long-term follow-up, 12% to 28% of patients describe hip pain after intensive physical exertion, and 0% to 18% had some limitation to range of hip motion (1)
  • a child who has had problems with an irritable hip is at a slightly increased risk of further episodes of this condition. This is usually benign although in about 10% it may be the presenting feature of a chronic inflammatory condition (2)
