Surgical excision is the treatment of choice for giant cell tumours and can be undertaken with bone grafting if necessary.
If the lesion is not very accessible then it may be curetted and packed with bone chips.
If neither of the above can be undertaken then the lesion may be treated with radiotherapy. Note that radiotherapy has been implicated as a possible cause of bone tumours.
