Treatment:

  • diethylcarbamazepine (DEC)
  • ivermectin, covered with steroids in cases of allergic reaction

Concomitant infections should be treated with antibiotics. Patients with troublesome recurrent lymphangitis may be given prophylactic penicillin V 250 mg twice/day.

Early lymphoedema is treated by elevation of the limb. Chronic lymphoedema may require surgical intervention.
