The most common malignancy in the chest wall is chondrosarcoma which appears as a lobulated, smooth, firm mass often showing cortical destruction on radiographs.

Other types include:

  • Ewing's sarcoma
  • lymphoma
  • plasmacytoma
  • osteogenic sarcoma
  • neurosarcoma
  • fibrosarcoma
  • liposarcoma
  • angioplastic sarcoma
  • metastases - either from extension or blood borne. Commonly, from sarcomas or with primaries in the breast, kidney, lung, or thyroid.
