A chondroma is a benign tumour which characteristically forms mature cartilage.
Chondromata may be single or multiple - and may be familial if unilateral. Multiple chondromata is a condition known as Ollier's disease.
It affects males and females equally, at around the age of 20-30.
The long bones and hands and feet are the commonest sites.
Treatment is by excision.
